We Pinoys love our rice—whether it’s bagong saing, served as silog for breakfast, cooked as porridge, ginataan, or champorado for merienda, made into rice cakes like puto or bibingka, or turned into a game show. Wait, what?

Yup, you read that right! Because kanin is life and we just can’t get enough of it, kumu has cooked up a new Social TV game show where everyone with a love affair for rice can participate in! Prepare to eat your heart out in the newly-launched noon-time program “Rice Up”!

Hosted by Betong (@amazingbetong), this exciting game show is coming to your virtual kitchens starting on July 19. It will open regularly from Mondays through Fridays at 12pm PHT, just in time to fill your hungry stomach at lunchtime. With similar mechanics to Social TV fan favorite game show “Challenge Accepted”, it also follows a six time format with fun games to play. Of course, kumu diamonds await joiners—which you can easily convert to cash!

What’s more, kumu also partnered with Mayani, the Philippines fastest growing farm-to-table platform connecting smallholder farmers to consumers. Mayani will be sponsoring sacks of rice for the lucky Kumunizens!

Saan ka pa? Tara na’t magsaing with “Rice Up”!

How does it work? It’s simple—you just have to go to the kumu app and look for the “Rice Up” game show first thing. Once you are in, play some games by climbing up the tiles as you wait for the rice to cook. If you’re still on the tile after the rice is done cooking, you can have your kumu diamonds and eat your rice, too!

If reading this makes your mouth water already, set your alarms at noon daily and shoot your shot at “Rice Up” now! Prepare your yummy ulam in advance because one trip to the rice cooker will not be enough. Have fun, Kumunity!
