We may be spending the days indoors, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate summer! Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina, founder of Nickl Entertainment, helps us dive into the fun season with hot hits from the first-ever kumu Summer Album. On April 17, from 8pm to 12 midnight, catch the grand launch on @nicklentertainment on kumu.
Led by host DJ Jaiho, the star-studded show will bring you the highly missed concert feels with amazing performances by talented artists, Belle Mariano and pop/rock singer and songwriter Guji Lorenzana. For the first time ever, listen and be swayed by the cool summer hits from the album sung by the top 10 winners of “A Single Chance,“ the online talent show held last February. With awesome performances and an energy to match our mood, all you really need is a drink in hand for it to be truly feelin’ like summer.
The seasoned director is excited to come onboard and explore all the creative opportunities kumu has to offer. “I’ve been using kumu for 6 months now and have done several shows like Gimme a Break, an online talent search, and even a cooking show,” begins Direk Cathy. “I decided to explore this platform for this particular launch because I felt that the viewers here are more active. We can actually make real connections and nurture a special relationship with them. They’re not just viewers, they’re friends, they’re family!”
Direk Cathy promises a memorable night of great music and extraordinary talent, headlined by Bry Flores (@bryflores), Chelle Mariveles (@chellemariveles), and JR Estudillo (@jr.estudillo)- the top 3 winners of “A Single Chance.”
The three, along with the other winners from the top 10, will be recording a song on the all-original album. “Joining and winning the campaign was a fulfilling experience!,” shares Flores, the deemed winner of “A Single Chance” who will also be recording a duet with Guji Lorenzana on the album. “Every effort I gave was all worth it because getting the top tier was not easy. I always tell myself to not build expectations; I’m just full of gratitude for everyone who had supported me since Day 1 until the finale. My win is also theirs!”

Chelle Mariveles beams with the same level of pride and joy having landed the second spot: “What I’m feeling is halo-halong emosyon. Win-win situation. Dahil maka-top man or hindi, yung love and support ng mga naniniwala sayo makes me feel like a winner already. And isa talaga sa goal and dream ko is magkaroon ng single and mapasama or magkaroon ng album someday. At heto na nga! And I’m really grateful and thankful for this opportunity. Thank you kumu and Nickl Entertainment!”
JR Estudillo, who placed third, was among those who tried his shot and found success! “My advice to those who want to join kumu campaigns – Firstly, set your mind to it coz campaigning is not easy at all. It entails longer hours of streaming and asking for support from everybody who might join you on your streams. Always remember as well to be yourself because audiences will always love genuine people!”
